Smite priest simulator

Johannah casting smite

Last time Johannah had the pleasure of handmade smite theorycrafting done by Elowyn the Master Bear. Now it’s time to see what Trienish the Shadow Priest Friend has done in name of the holy smite priest build!

The Eat a Brick Smite Priest Simulator is jam-packed with the ability to take your theoretical spellpower, crit percentage, and haste percentage, and spit out a DPS and mana expenditure over a 5 minute boss fight!

Here’s some of the numbers it generated:

  • The beginning smite priest. Spellpower 2500, Crit 30%, Haste 10%. 2272 DPS, 89484 mana.
  • The smite priest WotLK raiding a little. Spellpower 2500, Crit 40%, Haste 20%. 2580 DPS, 94276 mana.
  • The smite priest concerned for their mana. Spellpower 2500, Crit 50%, Haste 10%. 2455 DPS, 83610 mana.
  • The smite priest that doesn’t believe in mana. Spellpower 2500, Crit 30%, Haste 30%. 2677 DPS, 105555 mana.

It uses 1,000 samples to figure these numbers, so if you plug them in, you might get a slightly variant result.

According to this smite priest simulator, spellpower has an amazing effect on smite priests (as it does most spell pew pewing.) If you manage to crawl your way to 3000 spellpower (let’s say the raid buffs love you and your Spirit is out of control), your numbers jump dramatically:

  • The smite priest with lots of spellpower. Spellpower 3000, Crit 30%, Haste 10%. 2584 DPS, 89375 mana.
  • The smite priest with lots of spellpower and raiding gear. Spellpower 3000, Crit 40%, Haste 20%. 2937 DPS, 94172 mana.
  • The smite priest with spellpower and mana issues. Spellpower 3000, Crit 50%, Haste 10%. 2793 DPS, 83591 mana.
  • The smite priest that EXPLODES. Spellpower 3000, Crit 30%, Haste 30%. 3033 DPS, 105611 mana.
  • The smite priest we all want to be. Spellpower 3000, Crit 50%, Haste 30%. 3268 DPS, 98796 mana.

The DPS isn’t all that grand–I personally think they’re lower than the results I’ll have as a level 80 smite priest–but it’s still something to think about and get excited over. Crossing fingers that Johannah can deliver this above and beyond!

An additional note: this simulator is designed for a smite priest that is hit capped, so for every 1% you have under 17%, that’s 1% off our DPS. And did I mention smite priests have no hit talents? Read about that next time!
