It’s time for NaBloPoMo again!

I know I’m not alone in the masochistic pool of WoW players. As an example, I’m certainly not the only person with a Winterspring Frostsaber story to tell. Then there’s things like doing every one of those Holiday achievements for that mount that flies a nanosecond faster (shaman has it, thought of doing it twice for my priest gives me shudders), and the torturous experience I refuse to put myself through, Insane in the Membrane. (Fuyuko’s got an Insane in the Membrane Guide if you’re dumb enough to do it, btw.)

I do these painful, exciting things outside of WoW too; such as participating in rigorously demanding writing events like National Blog Posting Month. Johannah the Smite Priest was part of the event in November, and my now-retired fiction blog had partaken in it in the past in the well, to the point where I thought I was secure to move on from that torturous endeavor. Then they sent me an email.

January’s theme is THE BEST.

And don’t WoW players like to know THE BEST of everything? The best spec, the best piece of gear, the best thing to scream when you run into a clump of whelps to intentionally wipe your raid. Well, Johannah the Smite Priest is here to deliver! For the month of January, I’ll be exploring the best of every aspect of the priest raiding world. There’ll be some PvP spice in there too, for sure.

Before I embark on this dangerous journey that will tear out yet another sliver of my insanity, I am curious: what would you like to see the best of? Answer the poll or, better yet, leave a comment with a suggestion! THE BEST will begin on New Years!

Johannah the Smite Priest in NaBloPoMo

Johannah the smite priest in ToC-10

Johannah the smite priest in ToC-10

Johannah the Smite Priest will be participating in National Blog Posting Month for November 2009. This means that there will be a post-a-day until the end of November! That’s 30 days of fantastical smite priest goodness to shake the World of Warcraft priest community with excitement. (Or maybe rage, who knows.)

And in case you think my brain will explode at the end of the month, I can assure you that I have poisoned bettered myself with this experience before; A Sliver of Fantasy, my all-too-now-outdated fiction blog, participated in NaBloPoMo in the month of July.

If you would like a particular topic on smite priests to be addressed, please leave a comment so that your ideas may be included in the Johannah the Smite Priest November marathon. Even in the lonesome world of my own creativity though, I am brimming with different topics to address to validate, hilarify (that should be the new word of 2009), and illustrate the wonders of Wrath of the Lich King smite priests. Get ready for things like:

  • Smite priest PvP (in battlegrounds and arenas)
  • Smite priest raiding (with performance charts)
  • Smite priest lore
  • Smite priest macros
  • Tricks of the trade to liven up a smite priest’s rotation
  • An in-depth look at holy damage and how it affects you (applicable to everyone since I’ll be looking at resilience)
  • Holy priest healing (complete with a second Lvl 80 guide)
  • A smattering of hilarity

Fun in smite priest leveling limbo

Smite priest leveling with murlocs

If only all quests involved murloc families.

To celebrate Johannah hitting level 76 in the SMITE PRIEST WRATH LEVELING! month of October, I’ve taken a moment to step back from the all of the theorycrafting and WoWHeading in the blog to look at Johannah the Smite Priest from a fun and refreshing perspective.

I made a Wordle!

Wordle is a fun keyword cloud tool that I discovered back in June during a search for unique blogger contraptions. It skims through all of the content provided on a website or blog and churns out a beautiful illustration of what’s discussed.

So here it is, the super-exciting Johannah the Smite Priest keyword cloud:

I might be going over Lightning Bolt a wee too much (says the shaman/priest player), but Smite is still whole-heartedly prevailing in the big picture. If you have a blog, try Wordle out for yourself! Warning: momentarily as addictive as World of Warcraft.

Leveling a smite priest from 72 to 76 has proved enjoyable thus far. I’ve quested through Borean Tundra, Howling Fjord, and Dragonblight, and I have also both healed and DPS’d instances in my current spec. I even gained about a level’s worth through Alterac Valley; because of Smite’s lack of hit talents, it’s difficult to run about in AV DPS’ing the NPCs, but that’s why the ability to swap from DPS to heals so fluidly is insanely useful, not to mention a whole world of fun!

Speaking of fun, Johannah the Smite Priest will be participating in NaBloPoMo–National Blog Posting Month–for the month of November, so make sure to subscribe to the RSS feed so that you get your daily dose of smite priesting! In light of this upcoming event, I invite you to vote on the topics you’d most like to see discussed:
